Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a genetic disease that affects children and young adults. CF mainly affects the digestive system and lungs and the severity of this differs from person to person.
Symptoms of CF include:
Difficulty digesting fats and proteins.
Malnutrition and deficiencies as the body become incapable of digesting many nutrients.
Progressive lung damage and atypical inflammation.
CF related Diabetes.
Causes: Cystic Fibrosis is a genetic disease that occurs when a child inherits (2 copies) of the gene responsible for the disease for each parents, who are carriers themselves (have one copy of the CF gene)
